Software Option
Leader Instruments constantly strives to find new ways to help people measure and monitor their professional video signals. They are proud to introduce a unique product feature called CINELITE. Available as a software option for the LV5800, LV5750, and LV5700A, CINELITE provides on-picture measurements of video levels in several different formats. By moving a target receptacle around the image, you can select specific pixels to make your measurements from in real time.
The four different formats that CINELITE measures are:
- Luminance (Y) Percentage
- RGB Percentage
- RGB Numeric Value (0 to 255)
- F-Stop
The first three formats evaluate the raw video data as it comes in from your source. The fourth format, however, is where things get interesting. You can configure the Waveform monitor to comply with the gamma curve of your video camera and get f-stop measurements in the same manner that film professionals use. CINELITE comes equipped with a standard default .45 gamma curve and three slots that can be configured, with a couple of easy steps, to match a custom setting. This can serve as an invaluable source for individuals who may be making the transition from Film to Video.
