New SDI Only Waveform/Vector/Data Monitor

 

Hauppauge, NY, April 2000 . . . Leader Instruments Corporation announces the release of the LV 5100DU, a 4:2:2 digital component waveform, vector, picture, data monitor designed to be cost effective in those applications where monitoring of the serial data stream is the sole requirement. It has been developed from the earlier LV 5100D that handled both SDI and analog signals.

The LV 5100DU accepts two SDI inputs and offers a buffered SDI output from the selected input. It displays YCbCr or GBR waveforms as well as the component vector display and a picture display derived from the Y signal. The latter includes a line strobe in line-select operations. Decoded analog picture monitor outputs are available in YPbPr or GBR forms. Waveform displays are available in overlay and parade as well as a timing mode to facilitate bowtie checks. Waveforms show normal blanking or with EAV/SAV PASS selected shows signals normally blanked. Precision cursors measure level (in % or mV) as well as time and the preset mode stores up to ten front panel setups covering all aspects of control settings except intensity, focus, scale intensity and power on-off. Preset setups may be recalled from the front panel or remotely. In addition, the unit provides an X-Y phase/amplitude display for analog stereo signals.

In the digital mode, the LV 5100DU provides status reports that read out signal status. The strength of the data stream in terms of equivalent cable length from a standard source, and an EDH error count with the time of the first error. Provision is made for triggering local and remote alarms from errors in TRS, EAV, SAV, ANC, APCRC, FFCRC and in spotting EDH flags. The data display reads data in hex for all 1716 data points of the raster line selected manually or triggered by detection of TRS error.
