Multi-Format HDTV Generator

Cypress, CA, April 2001 ... Leader Instruments Corporation announces the release of a new multi-format digital video generator, the LT 442D that complies with five system formats described in SMPTE standards 274M and 296M. The list of system formats in which the generator operates is as follows:

The LT 442D provides two SDI outputs conforming to SMPTE 292M and includes eight channels of embedded AES/EBU digital audio in compliance with SMPTE 299M. In addition, six channels of AES/EBU digital audio are available in stereo pairs from three dedicated BNC connectors. The generator genlocks to tri-level sync as well as NTSC or PAL black burst (including 1080/23.98sF and 23.98p) and offers advance/delay settings of up to ±100 lines and ± 1100 pixels in one pixel increments. Analog outputs include tri-level sync, horizontal and vertical drive. Analog sync output may be advanced or delayed up to 100 lines relative to the SDI output. Test signals include 100% and 75% color bars, multiformat color bars, 100% and 50% flat fields, dot/crosshatch, and the pathological check field (complies with SMPTE RP-198). Additional features include a twenty character programmable source ID and RS-232 remote control of format, pattern and audio status selection.
