New Free Firmware Upgrade For The LV5800 Multi-SDI Monitor
Following the Leader tradition of protecting your test equipment investment and keeping your Leader instruments performing in accordance with the latest industry requirements and specifications, we have, once again, updated the firmware of the award winning LV5800 Multi-SDI Monitor. And, yes, surprising as it may seem, this upgrade is also free. This latest firmware for the LV5800 is version 6.1; here are some highlights of new and improved functions :
a. Vanc Data Viewer & Analysis Screens (New) : This new improvement addresses the current demands of the broadcast industry for monitoring the presence and proper positioning of a number of Vanc data flags and data content. Five pages of various flags and data content are monitored and referenced based on standard. Data displays for each DID can be displayed (hex data dump) for further analysis.
b. AFD On-Picture Display (Improvement) : In addition to viewing AFD information on the LV5800 XGA (1024 x 768) TFT LCD display you now have markers available to depict AFD on picture.
c. AFD Data Analysis (New) : An AFD data summary display shows Bar data flags and values (new feature) while a data listing display allows data to be viewed in its native hex format (also new feature for AFD).
d. Closed Caption Screens In 4-Way Display (Improvement) : Closed Caption information can now be enabled and shown in one of the four quadrants allowing the operator simultaneous access to other measurements while still being able to monitor a picture with closed caption information being displayed.
e. Picture Histogram Function (New) : As requested by a number of production professionals we have added a picture histogram function to the LV5800 for those who prefer histogram over waveform monitoring screens; of course we have maintained all of the features and engineering functions of our waveform monitors; the histogram function is in addition to all of our existing measurement features.
A quick guide to the new features is provided at the end of this document.
