CINELITE Panavision : Report

 

On March 1, 2007, Leader Instruments publicly unveiled its innovative CINELITE option, available on most of their digital waveform monitors. The feature allows the user to accurately review and evaluate their set, after the camera has processed the image, by measuring the f-stop values of the material that is actually being recorded.

 

Leader was able to demonstrate this new option at PANAVISION's Woodland Hills facility, in an environment where the use of CINELITE would be ideal. A well-respected DP and former president of the American Society of Cinematographers, Richard Crudo, ASC, offered his services to create a dynamically-lit set that showcased how useful CINELITE was in a production environment.

 

Also on hand was Dean Krueger, a DP/DIT who specializes in HD productions. He added his own insight on the role of test and measurement equipment in digital video and how the industry has changed and evolved in a short period of time.

 

After a brief presentation by George Gonos, VP of Sales and Marketing for Leader Instruments, the attendees were given free reign to try CINELITE for themselves. Other Leader employees were on hand to show how CINELITE can be set up for the attached camera and to listen to the feedback provided by our guests. Leader constantly excels at innovating and leading the industry by understanding their customers' needs.

 

Overall, CINELITE was met with great interest. The event was a great success, thanks to the people who offered their time, energy, and input.
